I used to do this. Blog. Fairly regularly.

I once had a spark to do it. Or perhaps a delusion that anyone beyond my wife would read it. Either way, I enjoyed it. I still do but the drive isn’t there anymore.

There was never any one reason to explain why I abandoned it. A more rigorous workload taking up my precious writing time, sure. Getting older certainly didn’t help. A Trump presidency, COVID, therapy, a shake up in some relationships. They all contributed.

And with a second Trump Presidency in full swing and the overwhelming despair that can come along with that, I’ve decided to try to find a way to combat that. Either channeling that sadness and rage into a scathing post about how people are for voting against their own interest or expressing the joy I get from playing Crusader Kings 3 while watching Paradise

I just think I need something. Somewhere to go and dump everything in my head onto “paper.” I could do this in a less public forum of course, like I do for therapy but this offers the very small chance of finding community. The 1 in a million shot that some leftist Commander player stumbles onto a deck tech I write and stays for the socialist commentary.

Here’s hoping anyway.
